Hubtrac’s Industrial Flagship in Serbia: The Splendor and Advancement of the Zrenjanin Factory

In the European tire industry landscape, Hubtrac’s production base in Zrenjanin, Serbia stands as a true industrial powerhouse. This factory is not only a key pillar of the company’s global strategy but also a benchmark for intelligent manufacturing and green transformation.

Grand Scale and Modern Layout

Covering 130 hectares with a building area of approximately 393,660 square meters, the Zrenjanin facility is one of the largest foreign-invested industrial projects in Serbia. Since 2019, Hubtrac has invested nearly $990 million to establish a highly automated, efficient production hub. In 2024, a second-phase expansion added $645 million, bringing total investment to over €1.5 billion, solidifying its role as a cornerstone of Hubtrac’s European operations.

Cutting-Edge Technology and Smart Manufacturing

The facility leverages the latest technologies and intelligent systems. From raw material intake to tire building, curing, and final inspection, every step is fully digitalized and automated. AI, industrial big data, sensors, and robotics work in concert to make the factory a model “digital plant” in the global tire industry. Production lines feature advanced equipment including Fischer cutting machines, Blue Silver and VMI Milexx building machines, enabling theoretical daily output of thousands of truck tires. Quality control is meticulous, with X-ray inspection, dynamic balancing, and automated testing systems, while a 43-meter-tall automated warehouse ensures efficient storage and handling.

Green Vision and Sustainability

Environmental sustainability is integral to the facility. Plans include recycled rubber production and solar power integration to reduce carbon footprint and promote green energy usage. Hubtrac’s Serbia plant is designed as a “safe, smart, green, fully automated” tire production benchmark, reflecting the company’s commitment to sustainable and responsible manufacturing.

Upon completion of the second-phase expansion, the factory’s annual capacity will reach 1.1 million high-performance radial tires: 800,000 commercial truck tires, 50,000 OTR tires, 150,000 agricultural tires, and 100,000 retreadable tires. This scale demonstrates Hubtrac’s ambition and responsiveness to global transportation demands.

Strategic Significance and Global Impact

The Zrenjanin factory officially commenced large-scale production in September 2024, with Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić and industry leaders witnessing the milestone. The facility positions Hubtrac as a strategic European hub, capable of local design, manufacturing, and service. Localized production and logistics enhance responsiveness, shorten delivery times, reduce costs, and expand access to European and U.S. markets. The factory also generates employment and boosts the regional economy, while strengthening Hubtrac’s international competitiveness.

In summary, Hubtrac’s Zrenjanin factory is not only a massive modern industrial base but also a model of smart, sustainable tire manufacturing. It reflects Hubtrac’s substantial investment in the future of transportation technology and its global strategic vision, setting new benchmarks in efficiency, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
